Attention, gondola...iers! (Cornèrcard)

Put on your best smile and off you go in the Cornèrcard photo gondola. Not to lofty heights, but with an amazing souvenir photo of this event – and with a bit of luck, even with an additional gadget that will make the summer even better; either a cool “gondolier hat” or t-shirts from climbing professionals Andrea Kümin and Sascha Lehmann, both Cornèrcard testimonials.

Cornèrcard is a Premium Partner of the IFSC Climbing World Championships Bern 2023 and is looking forward to your visit to the “Village of Experiences”.

Test your knowledge on types of rocks (Swiss Alpine Club SAC)

From Aare granite to Hohgant sandstone, the Swiss mountains are made up of an incredible variety of rocks – a diverse Eldorado for climbers and mountaineers. But which type of rock is found in which climbing area? Test your knowledge and, with a bit of luck, win a course voucher or a hut voucher from the Swiss Alpine Club SAC.

Slackline Zone (Slackline Association)

In the Slackline Zone you can test your speedline skills on the 7m long slackline. Speedlining is an established slackline competition that is held on the ground as well as on the highline. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to run your best time and claim the day’s victory in speedlining.

The best speedliners will then compete against each other at the European Championship in Eichholz at the Bern City Slack Festival on Saturday, 26 August. The best speed highliners will be crowned at the World Championships in Laax, Graubünden in July 2024.

Air Climbing Wall / Climbing Wall "Mur Elephant

While the “little ones” can let off steam on the air climbing wall, there is also something for “the big ones” on the “Mur Elephant” climbing wall. Young and old can test their climbing skills, participate in various competitions and get helpful tips and tricks from the supervising VBSK (Association of Swiss Boulder and Climbing Gyms). Thanks to experienced supervision by our partner PluSport, the “Mur Elephant” climbing wall can also be climbed by people with disabilities.

  • Awareness activity: climbing with blindfold, restricted arm/leg, etc.

"Dry Tooling Climbing" (Mountain Guide Association)

Test ice axe and crampons? Under supervision and with the help of trained mountain guides, this is possible in the Village Of Experiences.

The Village of Experiences

Product launch – Experiment and get involved (Dein Klettershop)

Get involved and be a part of the latest product. “Dein Klettershop” is launching a bouldering wall that can be set up individually at a 50 degree angle. Help us to perfect the bouldering wall by climbing and sharing your experience with us. A small surprise awaits everyone who delivered a helpful suggestion.

All-terrain electric wheelchairs (Stiftung Cerebral)

Test the all-terrain electric wheelchairs from Stiftung Cerebral on a specially designed course and ride them over hill and dale.

E-Climber live: Makes climbing easier. (E-Climber)

Experience the E-Climber in action on our compact climbing wall and test the active self-securing device for yourself. A few moves are enough to playfully climb to new heights with the E-Climber. We look forward to your visit!

Hands-on-science: Climbing research you can take part in (ETH Zurich)

How do the ring ligaments and fingertips change through regular climbing? Where does the energy for my finger flexors come from? Can applied forces on holds or a campus board say anything about the climbing level? If you ever wondered about things like the above, we invite you to participate in entertaining experiments, while we explain the current state of research.
